Vineyards

Estate Gonidakis

Kythnos

The Gonidakis family has a privately owned vineyard of 150 acres. Our vineyard is divided into two plots (hills).

One plot is in Loutra Dryopida and has 50 acres of vineyard, where our winery is also located. It includes 7 farm-houses, the so-called “cells” or “Kalivares”, which are the stone buildings or the old houses of the farmers of Kythnos.

The second plot is in the location of Petrenas Dryopida and includes 100 acres of vineyard and 7 more old stone-built farmhouses. The land, due to the fact that it is of low fertility, enables the viticulturist to create good quality grapes through a viticulture process and yield of the vineyards.

The chemical composition of both vineyards is a mixture of non-clay, sandy and moist, so the special combination of the microclimate of the area where the vineyards are located and in relation to the contribution of human resources, can give a unique and high quality wine.
